We had had heavy rain and thunder storms before we left for Rome. Our small airport and plane could not land there if the storm continued. An SOS went out to the kids to please prayer for a break in the weather so the plane could land and then take off. As you can see, there was a break in the weather and the cloud bank stalled just long enough for our prayers to be answered!
It doesn't take much to have storms here with all the moisture already in the air!

 Crotone from the air.
Storm clouds were all the way up to Rome, BUT we made it and with a strike on the trains and planes starting at 9 pm in Rome we really needed to get to Rome and our apartment before that time. We made all our connections and arrived in time at the apartment to run down to the Super market and get food before it closed at 8:30 pm! In fact they announced the closing time just as we were about to check out!

This is the Trajan Tower, It has always been a interesting thing to look at as there are carving all the up in a circular pattern. The tiny black squares you see below are windows to let light in for the stair case inside.

One of the many  monuments Laura and Ryan explored here and loved.

We are going inside a newly discovered wealthy mans home from the Roman period and we are about to enter-- no pictures allowed -- so it is hard to describe the inside but it is awesome tour--- one I hope Daniel will want to take!
