Returning to shore.  Mission accomplished after the 4th try!

Back up the hill and to the Church, there the newly baptized member shared his testimony. He shared his witness that God hears and answers prayers. His question about the church were answered .

Today this Brother received the sweetest and most wonderful                                   gift , the Gift of the Holy Ghost. He shared his witness that he felt the Spirit at church and was happy to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He appreciated the good members that had helped him along the way.
And this is the team that helped him through the steps.

We had a baptism last night, that is not  common for our area so it was pretty wonderful.
This man is 30, he took the lessons a while ago then stopped, left and lived to Sicily for a time and while there decided he reallydid want the Gospel of Jesus Christ in His life-- He stopped drinking , stopped smoking and then contacted the Elders when he moved back here.
Who wouldn't want that kind of investigator??? So for those who taught someone and they stopped--- it is not the end!

The video didn't get put where I wanted it -- this is going out in the sea for the Baptismal Ordinance

foods, fruits, fabulous favors!

As in all foods in Italy there are MANY different varieties of mushrooms. This is a street vendor selling some we have not seem before.

We made the bitter/bean soup. Those two ingredients compliment each other and make a wonderful dish.( We used the whole bag of greens to make a medium bowl of soup.)
This is a new fruit we have never seen or tasted before. We are unsure of the true name but we think we heard it called zimforo. A member offered them to us . They are very sweet and a unique flavor--- They look like a brown olive, which is what we thought they were. They reminded me of cherries. But not really. They have a pit like an olive, texture of an Asian Pear inside, and very sweet like a date. We have been looking for them ever since we tasted them---still have not found any! They are VERY tasty!
I was instructed on how to open a pomegranate and eat it. You cut the top and bottom and then cut down each ridge, it opens perfectly.
A new fruit as well. It looks like a tangerine inside , the color is as you see. They taste like a tangy clementine. Like a grapefruit/ clementine. I really like them! Clementines are coming on and they are really sweet!
It is hard to believe how quickly food spoils here, so here is proof. This is the beans and greens soup a few days later. It is amazing, the mold was up to the lid, white fluffy stuff! Yes, it was in the fridge!
Off the balcony of a members apartment in the late afternoon, it  was a nice, clear day.

We came across this little shop in OLD town Crotone. The owner / builder had just completed an entire village and was taking it down for transport. I did not have my camera??? So I couldn't show it.
His door was once again and he allowed me to take pictures. This is a close up of the detail he takes. All the material used in the buildings are from that time so he has cut everything down to scale size. He had not put up the plaster layer on the upper level  so you can see just how detailed these are, the labor and detail is remarkable. The roof tiles , brick, stone, marble, wood he has all cut to fit.

Another miniature village he is working on. He sells them                                          in a neighboring town.
                                                 His work shop.
A Birthday and time to say GOOD BYE!
Our fearless leader for our District -lots to learn from this Anziano!

Almost time for our next transfers - Transfers are Sad and                                                         Sweet.

This is at the Conference on the Family "Adoptions/ Foster Care". We are getting set up for our part, Presidente is the tech man and moves the power point along. The lady next to me asked for the Book of Mormon.
 Our little group.

We went to Sorella T's Father's home after and went down to the bottom of his property. It is hard to see but where the trees end is a cliff! It is a huge drop 1000 or more feet down the raven!

Daughter and Dad, this man is close to 90 and his goal is to live to be a 100. He picked pomegranates from his trees for us,  and yellow daisies for the sorelli. He wanted them to be able to play the --- He loves me---  He loves me not --game.
As you come into their town the streets are lined with trees, I knew he had planted them all, but I thought it was his job. I found out, No, he just wanted to make the town look better so he started to plant the trees until the entire road had trees on each side. THIS IS A VERY LONG ROAD! It was a real pleasure to be in his gardens!
Part 4 of the Trip
These ruins are Roman/ Greek/? each group of people who have lived here have fought over this location .The land jets out into the sea so it a perfect location for first warnings and defense.  It is a little hard to see but the darker soil are recent digs , they were digging while we were there.
This is are area of much debate and protests as they have covered the area with cement, on top of Ruins. This the first time we have seen the Church and ruins open.

Our group on the tower.

Our guide says a boy he found a vase here, his mom said oh that just is Roman-- like it was not as good as Greek.
 The bells.
Juliet's baptism was here a couple of months ago, next Saturday we will have another Baptism in the sea.
World War II also saw the need for a defense here, there are MANY bunkers like this around the area.
The coastline and High Winds--- so happy we were in slacks!!!Kite Surfers are in the distance.
This Kite Surfer was gliding across the sea as though he were being pulled by a speed boat.
