 The smoking Etna is one of the most active volcanos in the world.

 The black stones are called ash the lighter brown is ash too but older, You can tell the age of the ash by the color.

 To honor God for stopping the Volcanic metal from covering their town, the towns people put up this monument and built the chapel as a remember.

 The ash is thick and heavy and puts off a gas that kills all living thing. As it ages the gases are released and then life once again can begin.

 This whole area is covered with the ash but life is returning

You can see where the more recent ash has fallen, the black on the mountain.

 We call him Sporky. He owns this parking lot -- Wild dogs stay in their area! It is strange as we think of dogs being wanderers.

 Time for the Festival___ Tonight there will be no sleep as it goes on all night.

 Crotone is all decked out for the Soccer team---- It was very quite today as the team lost. That has only happened one other time!!

 We were told Capo Colonna has the best clay for pottery  -, We found the clay, it is all over the shoreline by the cliffs. Kind of looked like Yellowstone park's mud pots.
