This is part of the earlier post, but we will go inside Le Castella
Looking down from the tower into one of the courtyards.
The east wing of the castle that did not fair as well.
The ache ways are on the small side. When you go through the castle you have to wonder,' How big were these people'?
Climbing up the tower the stairs became narrower and narrower.
The stairs were not wide enough for our feet. You had to go down sideways.Only one person could be in the stair well at a time. We were waiting for an opening when a older woman, late 70's 80's, popped out, coming down from the upper tower. That was a hike up to the top , so we were impressed.
Leaving the castle.

This home was so interesting with the different materials on the outside. The owner was happy we appreciated her lovely home.
You have to look hard but that is God pointing His finger on the ceiling of this chapel.
Entering Le Castella, We finally took a hour and went inside this castle. We have a member in this town about 25 minutes away from Crotone, but have never been inside.
This looks down at least 2 levels to how life was at one time.
Our Sorella makes the staircase look large but for the rest of us it was very small.
A view from the top tower looking back at the town.

Our Ward Activity was a Remember Pioneers theme, but we honored the pioneers here in Crotone.
We had games( Pres. B is blind folded and putting a tie on the figure on the board) and then a video of many of the members in the branch-- we are working on getting them all on video for Christmas.
We had a very small group, we are cutting into vacation time.
We had been told Cruise Ships came into our Harbor, but this is the first one we have seen. We were on our way to an appointment when we saw this one leaving the dock and when we were done with our visit, this is all we saw as it headed out to sea.

These are our Anziani from Crotone helping out with a demonstration. Talking about the importance of using good tools in Missionary Work. One was given a slice of bread, a knife, a plate and a jar of Nutella, the other Anziano was give a jar of Nuttella. They both were given the job of eating the entire jar. ( well the jars were only a third full.) But the point was well taken and the Anziano who had the tools finished first.
Our Zone Conference Anziani
The Sorelle. We have a new senior couple in our zone, The wife was born in the city they are serving in and her husband speaks very good Italian. She is lovin being back in her "home". They are coming from Great Falls, Montana.
Some fruit we have never seen in the states. The yellow fruit tastes like a Prune/ Apricot. The skin is smooth. The fruit next to it is a flat peach they look like a donut. The tomatoes below are like little pumpkins.
We took a trip to visit our member family who are vacationing at their beach home.
There is a wooded area before the beach, kind of like some parts of South Carolina.
The beach sand is coarse, It is great because it doesn't stick to your skin.
Checking out the water, nice and warm, clean and clear.
A little water volleyball.
This smart business man brought his wears right down to the customers, He had just set down his wears when I snapped the picture, by the time he had staked in the pegs he had a group of women. He was there for 10 maybe 15 minutes and picked up shop and moved on down the shoreline.
This is the walkway to the beach.
One of the courtyard entrances along the way.
Looking down from the member's top apartment down into the courtyard.
Their home is on that top level. There are 3 other apartments on that floor.
Youth Activity for the Branch, Beach Volleyball.
Not sure how this is volleyball, but they were laughing --- kind of like most church sports --a little too competitive.
Game over-- all are winners!
Two of our youth who showed up to play. We have two others so 50% attendance.
Our Sorelle really loved the game, and especially the fireworks on the beach!
We pass these two homes all the time and one day we might be able to get a front view, they are located on a large track of land which they farm.

Here are some of the other pictures I will post on this Medieval House. Angela was asked to let me take her picture with Presidente B and she said 'he is so tall', so he knelt down , she loved it!
At the end of the room is a fresh water well, it has been covered for safety, the wall around the well is original stone.
She has a nice modern kitchen! Just think, women have been cooking in this room for HUNDREDS of years, lovingly feeding their families.
This wall is the original brick and so is the floor in the kitchen, the other parts are covered with tile.
This sitting room just off the great room was a oven in times past.
This walk way is 9 feet long and that is how thick the supporting walls are!
The interior walls are all 3 to 4 feet thick.!

The little arch would have been another level down , just covered.
